Dg. Mohan Chakma becomes the new Chairman of CADC
Kamalanagar, 21 April, 2021: Dg. Mohan Chakma, MDC, Chakma Autonomous District Council today was declared the new Chairman, CADC elected. He has succeeded Dg. H. Amaresh Chakma, the outgoing Chairman, who was removed in a no-confidence motion in the first sitting of the recently concluded Budget Session.
Nomination filing for the election was notified for yesterday with election to be held today. However, Dg. Mohan Chakma was the lone candidate who filed nomination and was declared elected uncontested today.
The 10th CADC is his third consecutive stint as MDC who have been contesting from 20-Parva constituency since joining active politics. In the last two terms he has held the post of Executive Member, CADC.
Immediately after Dg. Mohan Chakma was elected the new Chairman Dg. Mohesh Boran Chakma tendered resignation from the post of Deputy Chairman, CADC. The resignation letter was submitted to the new Chairman.
